Intramammary syringe for dry period
Composition
Each syringe contains:
Ceftiofur (hydrochloride) 500 mg
Indications & target animals
For the treatment of subclinical mastitis in dairy cows during the dry period caused by Gram-positive and Gram-negative bacteria susceptible to ceftiofur, particularly Staphylococcus aureus, Streptococcus dysgalactiae, and Streptococcus uberis.
Administration & dosages
Intramammary Infusion Administration in Lactating Cows
Upon the final milking before the dry period, the udder is completely emptied. The teats and surrounding area are then washed, disinfected with an appropriate antiseptic, and thoroughly dried. Subsequently, one applicator of the preparation is infused directly into each quarter via the teat. The udder is then massaged upwards several times to facilitate even distribution of the medication within the quarter. Each applicator is for single use only and must be disposed of hygienically after use.
Withdrawal period
Meat: 16 days.
Milk: 30 days.
